What a nightmare.
We rented a cabin at this motel on vrbo.
First of all it was not disclosed that the place is part of a roadside motel, second the rental was not even remotely as advertised.
The place is incredibly difficult to get into as its literally on the side of a major highway you have to pass it and turn around to get in and theres a dangerously steep drop as you pull in.
The cabin was filthy and absolutely overrun with bugs of all kinds. Half the outlets didn't work so we couldn't even use the kitchen. There was no wifi, even though it's supposedly high speed internet. The photos taken for the listing were done in panorama so the rooms looked easily 3-4 times bigger than they were (they are quite small.) The bathroom is very small and cramped, the shower is smaller than an adult sized coffin and leaked like crazy.
All that and some of the other guests were very comfortable walking up onto the porch of our cabin and just hanging out by the windows, or just milling around the lot at all hours.
On top of all this, they charged me almost double the agreed price because for no discernable reason and when I complained about the condition of the place suddenly no one could be held responsible even with photos and videos taken at check-in and checkout. Even the motel claims no responsibility for the cleanliness issues even though it's their housekeeping that takes care of the cabins.
Please I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere.

Boyfriend and I stayed here in unit 1 so we could experience Cape Cod Canal striper fishing. We had a great time fishing, but also really, really enjoyed our stay here at Herring Run Inn. The staff is so accommodating (though we didn't need much- they were super helpful). The room was tidy and comfortable. I absolutely recommend staying here for any occasion, not just fishing. Our drive to Chatham was less than an hour, and it was close location to many beaches. I really appreciate this place and will absolutely be staying here again.

I DO NOT Recommend this place.
First of all, it costed me $466 for 3-night stay thru Vacasa, since its a memorial day weekend. However, its too high for the quality of the room. Room is worst than whats being showed in photos. Economy hotels like Super8, Redroof, DaysIn and Motel6 were way better than this room.
Room is stinky, Bed frames were super noisy even you sit on them, bathroom is a miniature big person wont fit, all amenities inside room were from dollar tree including trash can, mini-fridge door doesn't open hits the floor, Water pressure is super low in all faucets - Horrible experience. This place really needs a fixer-upper.
NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY.

What a phenomenal nature gem! We booked a family vacation at Herring Run, and it exceeded expectations. The rooms were spotless, the sheets were crisp and smelled so clean. Hidden behind the motel is an amazing lake, where we kayaked and explored nature. We even saw a giant turtle! beautiful beaches were minutes away, and the grounds were well lit and cozy for a night out by the fire, or a day grilling. I love that we have affordable places like Herring so close to home, but can feel like a true escape. I would give it more stars if I could, highly recommend it !

Family owned and operated and it showed. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. They all went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. They have a great story about the herring and had treat bags when we checked in. Had coffee for us in the morning and a big bowl of fresh fruit. They have a cooler with a variety of drinks you can choose from, for free. The rooms are clean and mini fridge and microwave in rooms.
