The staff and especially Courtney was amazing, super friendly, accommodating, helpful and full of tips that made our nyc adventures so beautiful! The room was simple but it was all we needed, just a place to come to after a long day out and about. We’d definitely stay here again, great location, fair price and honestly I’d come again even just for the friendly feeling. Thanks guys!

AMEI esse lugar!!! Meu parceiro e eu ficamos lá neste fim de semana, e foi tão, tão adorável. A equipe é incrivelmente simpática e acolhedora, eles estão muito felizes em ajudar e nos fornecer tudo o que precisávamos. Eles também foram muito rápidos em responder! Courtney na recepção foi SUPER prestativa e até nos deu algumas sugestões de coisas para fazer na cidade, que acabamos pegando uma das recomendações, e foi um ótimo momento! Ela também era tão amigável e borbulhante e muito divertida de conversar. Andre (acho que era o nome dele...?), ou quem quer que fosse o sujeito que estava respondendo minhas mensagens, foi incrivelmente atencioso e nos forneceu aquecedor, xampu e condicionador mediante solicitação. Meu parceiro e eu saímos com pressa e não conseguimos parar na recepção, mas Andre até desceu as escadas e saiu pela porta apenas para acenar "adeus" para nós e nos agradecer por ficar! I LOVED this place!!! My partner and I stayed there this weekend, and it was so, so lovely. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, they are so happy to help and provided us with whatever we needed. They were also very quick to reply! Courtney at the front desk was SUPER helpful and even gave us some suggestions for things to do in the city, which we ended up taking one of the recommendations, and it was a great time! She was also so friendly and bubbly and just really fun to talk to. Andre (I think was his name...?), or whoever the fellow was that was answering my messages, was incredibly attentive and provided us with a heater, shampoo, and conditioner upon request. My partner and I left in a hurry and couldn't stop at the front desk, but Andre even ran down the stairs and out the door just to wave "goodbye" to us and thank us for staying! As someone who is used to very sterile, polite, "professionalism" environments, that really meant a lot to me. Things I loved: -super cozy and warm environment -rooms and bathroom were super clean -very flexible check-in and check-out; we were able to leave our luggage in our room till 5pm while we ran around adventuring in the city -very low-key; nothing was fancy or extravagant, it was just really comfortable and relaxed -about a 6min walk from the nearest subway stop, and really great location for going to a lot of major places -easy to go in and out of the room and the building without fear of being locked out -the staff really look out for their guests and are personally invested in making sure everyone gets what they need Things to consider: -It's NOT a hotel, so the amenities, front desk availability, and overall "caliber" are different -bathrooms and showers are outside of the rooms and shared with other guests -it gets quite cold at night (though they happily provided us with a heater and we were fine) My partner liked it but prefers the more standard accommodations and privacy of a regular hotel. I, on the other hand, am a super people person and love low-key, comfortable, interpersonal environments like this hostel provided! So while it might not be for everyone, I give it 5 stars for a really great place to spend a few nights, an amazing job done by the staff, and overall a wonderful stay with no complaints or negative experiences (ironically unlike many hotels I've visited). Thank you all so much for the wonderful stay!!!!!!!!
É rentável! O banheiro é compartilhado, mas há opção de quarto privativo (há uma pia no quarto), o ambiente é bom, o buffet de café da manhã é razoável e a localização é muito boa! Muito satisfeito. Eu recomendo ir a um hotel se você estiver preocupado com higiene ou segurança em um albergue barato.
Chuveiros e banheiros eram muito limpos e agradáveis! Chuveiro era um chuveiro de chuva e eles tinham variedades de shampoo e condicionadores se você deixasse o seu em casa. Os guardiões do albergue eram superpessoais e nos ajudaram a trazer nossas malas pesadas para cima, e insistiram nisso. As camas eram confortáveis, os quartos tinham uma pequena pia e espelho para o residente, e o albergue estava lindamente decorado! A cozinha estava bem abastecida e a sala tinha lugares confortáveis para se sentar.
Showers and bathrooms were very clean and nice! Shower head was a rain shower and they had shampoo and conditioners varieties if you left yours at home. The hostel keepers were super personable and helped us bring our heavy bags upstairs, and insisted on it. The beds were comfortable, the rooms had a small sink and mirror for the resident, and the hostel was cutely decorated! The kitchen was well stocked, and the lounge had comfortable places to sit.
I was here back in 2019 and it was really an awesome place to stay, so we decided to go back with one friend this time in 2021 and it was even better. The place is super cool and has the best possible location in NY with a great price. Amdre (the host) was so kind, polite and helpful. The rooms are great, and the very best part is the breakfast and coffee you can take :D! We also met a girl called Courtney that was helping Amdre to make some new changes to this place. We will for sure go back to this place every time we visit New York. If you get to read this, we miss you Amdre and Courtney, the guys from Argentina!
If you are looking for a great place with a great price and a great location in New York City, this is your go to lodging choice. It is accessible to just about any area of the city you want to get to. There is a subway nearby, plenty of grocery stores and restaurants, and it is located in a safe, decent area of Manhattan. Andre, who works the front desk, is a great guy. He will make sure you are taken care of. They offer bunkbed rooms if it’s you and a friend. Every room has a television and air conditioning. The bathrooms and showers are communal, but always kept clean. There are also plenty on each floor so you have access to one at any time. Every morning, there is free breakfast, which mainly consists of pastries and fruit and they have plenty of bread stocked in the kitchen. They have a full kitchen so you can cook your own food and a fridge to store anything you bring with a convenient, safe way to label your items to make sure no one eats them. A cab ride to this place from the airport (JFK) will run you about 70 bucks. And there was also hand sanitizer at the front desk if you need it. There is a full office with a bunch of games and printer. Plenty of maps in the front to help you get anywhere in the city. As far as noise goes, it is New York City, so you will hear cars and horns honking outside, but it does mellow down in the later hours of the night. I was able to get a good nights rest without any disturbances. The guests are not noisy as quiet is encouraged as a means to respect others. The hostel is also accessible to many major parks in New York, Central Park is a quick subway ride away. Every guest is provided with a shower towel and a hand towel that is clean and smells fresh. As soon as we checked out, the gentleman at the front desk immediately went to clean our room, so you know the rooms are cleaned after each guest leaves. Check in is super simple, all you have to do is text the number provided to you in the email when you are 15 minutes away. Someone is always there to welcome you and get you set up. Check out is easy as well. You just drop off your key and let the gentleman know you’re leaving. Every room also has a sink. The only thing I would recommend is to go out and grab yourself a small bottle of hand soap, because the bathrooms don’t necessarily have that stocked. If there is a soap bottle in there, it’s water that has been refilled on the bottom scrapings over and over. The beds are comfortable. We spent four nights here and I can honestly say I would go back in a heartbeat. This is my go to place to stay in New York. Highly recommended place to stay. You’re not gonna get a better deal in Manhattan for an affordable price like this one. When it comes to the breakfast, the food is fresh every morning. Nothing is recycled. But, if you have dietary restrictions, it would be better to go ahead and get yourself some items and store them in the fridge because all their breakfast items are heavy and sugar and bread, which are two things I don’t eat. The berries (strawberries, blueberries) were perfect each morning to accompany my keto bread. Which, if you do keto, all of the grocery stores in the vicinity offer keto friendly items. If you don’t want pastries for breakfast, they also have milk and cereal in stock for guests to eat. If you have any emergency laundry you need to do, there is a dry cleaner right next-door. If you need to mail anything out, there is a post office next-door. For any shopping needs, there is a great grocery store literally around the corner. Plenty of bars just a block or two away. Great restaurants just two minutes away. As I said, there is a subway station close by that can get you anywhere in the city. And if you’re a big Harry Potter fan, Harry Potter New York is less than 10 minutes away walking. For the location, cleanliness, amenities and price, this is probably the best place to stay in Manhattan if you’re on a budget.
Amazing place! Worth easily double what we paid! Rooms are clean and big (big for a hostel). Very clean for real for real! Andre(the manager) is amazing! So hospitable! I will 100% for sure be staying here again and telling everyone I know about this place. Best stay in Manhattan for less than $300/night!
Great hostel!! People are so friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and air conditioned. Hot water for showers and a well facilitated kitchen space! Also a great location!! Definitely recommend as a cheap alternative to hotels in the city
Económico por la zona en la que está. Problema? Varios. Había pulgas/chinches/arañas que nos estuvieron picando durante varias noches y tuvimos finalmente que decirlo, nos cambiaron de habitación. OK, pero aún así no venían a cambiarte las sábanas ni a limpiar la habitación si tú no lo pedías. Con las toallas exactamente igual. Por otro lado, el personal del B&b fatal, no nos enseñaron dónde estaban las cosas(tema de baño, cocina, lavandería, nada..) lo descubrimos gracias a una trabajadora mejicana encantadora que nos explicó todo lo que había. Si me gustaría destacar el desayuno, súper rico, súper completo, para todos los gustos, genial! Y la ubicación inmejorable.
Ha sido nuestra primera experiencia en un hostel y no ha podido ser mejor. La habitación muy limpia y completa con lavabo y televisión. Tanto el baño como la ducha son compartidos pero siempre limpios en los ocho días que hemos estado. Hay una zona de cocina donde sirven un desayuno sencillo pero completo con cereales, pan, bollería, fruta y donuts recién traídos cada día. También hacen a diario gofres y café. Zona común con ordenadores e impresora. La atención es agradable y de calidad.
Tremenda localizacion cuartos muy pequeños se comparte el baño y lo peor las toallas muy viejas trae las tuyas a menos q no te importe el lugar bastante limpio,te ofrece desayuno básico pan café frutas y jugó. Los empleados muy atentos el sr.marin muy amable nos ayudó mucho con las direcciones. Un poco de ruido pero ny es asi. En los alrededores muchos lugares para comer y si te gusta caminar pero mucho llegas chinatown,littleitaly y al puente de Brooklyn y lo crusas super brutal.
Me hospede en American Dream Bed and Breakfast 5 días en Noviembre con mi novia. En términos generales tuvimos una muy buena experiencia. Lo mas positivo: Económico: dentro de las opciones de hospedaje de NYC, tiene una excelente relación precio-calidad. Ubicación: Casi perfecta, a dos cuadras de la linea verde del metro, con la que mas nos manejamos (podes ir hasta Brooklyn, o hasta el Central Park) y a 4 de la linea amarilla (recorre todo Broadway, tiene parada en Times Square). De día es tranquilo, no hay tanto movimiento como en otras partes de Manhattan (lo que en mi opinión es una ventaja). De noche es un poco oscuro y si vuelven a la madrugada no hay una persona en la calle. Lo mas negativo: Atención: no es algo que destaque, nos recepcionó una persona que no era de muchas palabras, no nos explico donde estaba el comedor, baños, etc. Una de las chicas de limpieza que hablaba español, fue muy amable y nos contesto todas las dudas (incluso nos llevo lugar por lugar mostrándonos) Ubicación: De noche puede ser oscuro y desolado, al lo largo de toda la cuadra del hostel hay un deposito de correo, por lo que no hay movimiento de gente pasadas las 18hs. Para volver o salir caminando de noche, recomiendo tomar la 3rd Avenida, que tiene mucho movimiento. En resumen, El baño y las duchas son compartidos, pero nunca tuvimos que esperar para utilizarlos, ya que hay uno por piso. Recomiendo en lo posible alojarse en las habitaciones de Planta baja, ya que no hay ascensor, y ademas son las mas espaciosas. En términos generales muy limpio, el desayuno bien completo, cuentan con una heladera grande y un sistema de etiquetas para guardar tus alimentos. Recomendado para bajos presupuestos.
