Overall, the location, services and amenities were outstanding. It's location at the lower part of the valley and it's proximity to the vineyards and villages area, made the stay that much more enjoyable!

This hotel came at high expectations for us after an expansive search of the availability within the Douro Valley, the reviews of photographs online, as well as the elevated price tag. Unfortunately, our expectations were most certainly not met.We arrived in the Douro Valley to celebrate our recent wedding, on our honeymoon. My husband and I had originally booked a standard room, and were upgraded to a junior suite — the junior suite was spacious, and offered a nice outdoor terrace.During the day, we wandered around the Duoro Valley, visiting nearby wineries. In the evening, we had supper at the hotel restaurant, due to numerous local restaurants being closed. Our meal in the hotel restaurant was wonderful — I had duck while my husband had lamb.However, after returning to our room, this is when we started to notice that this five star hotel, was not a five star hotel at all. Of note:1. The electrical outlets in the washroom do not work, and will not work. The front desk informed us that the outlets have been turned off — therefore, if you are a lady who wishes to dry / straighten / curl your hair, your only option is to do so outside of the washroom 2. The thermometer is at a set temperature for the entire hotel — if you wish to adjust the temperature, you cannot — you can only adjust the fan speed. As of November, the air conditioning does not work in the rooms, we were provided a small room fan. 3. The “sound proof walls” are most certainly not sound proof at all. Despite our stay being on a Monday night, we could here neighboring guests turning on their shower, talking and laughing, amongst other things. 4. The provided in-room hair dryer stopped working after two-three minutes of drying my hair, outside of the washroom due to the lack of electrical outlets.In conclusion, this is a great place if you want Instagram photos — if you want a trouble free, five star stay, look elsewhere.

O hotel é lindo! Uma jóia à beira do Douro. Tem acesso direto ao porto pelos jardins, a vista a partir do hotel é belíssima de onde for que se olhe, o café da manhã é muito bem servido. Só não tem mais nada interessante no Pinhão, uma pena. Uma correção: a estação ferroviária é muito lindinha, toda decorada com azulejos portugueses retratando a vinicultura.

Pretentious hotel. One fairly kind reception staff was present on our venture here and beyond that we encountered incredibly rude bar staff. Kind of place that makes you think of all the damage that colonial Britain has done in Europe. Thankfully there are several kind, genuine family businesses up the street that make you feel welcome and are passionate about sharing their culture with you.

We stayed at the Vintage House Douro House for 2 nights and we loved it.
The hotel entrance is wonderful with 2 huge Bougainvilleas. Staff was very kind and our room was great, with view over the Douro river and the swimming pool area.
Breakfast was great, served in a beautiful room with a huge variety of options available.
Swimming pool areas was just gorgeous, very spacious and with several palm trees around it.
We had dinner at the restaurant and we loved it, food was amazing and very well prepared.
The hotel is located right by the river and it is possible to go on several boat tours from there.
Highly recommend this hotel if you ever visit Pinhão.

A calma que reina e o respeito pela essência criada nos corredores e salas e tão intensa que se sente na pele essa qualidade. Adivinhamos o charme vivido nos tempos passados e quase queremos ser parte desses momentos.

No desconfinamento, na abertura dos espaços hoteleiros, eu e a minha mulher resolvemos ir passar um fds a este mágico hotel, sempre com um pé atrás em relação à higiene e desinfecção do espaço directo e envolvente, mas toda a limpeza surpreendente, desde os quartos até ao serviço prestado, incluindo o restaurante. Alcool-gel por toda a parte. Os colaboradores muito atenciosos, sempre de máscara e prontos para que nos sentissemos em casa. Tivemos o prazer de conhecer o Senhor Director que nos abraçou de uma forma muito simpatica e interessante. Fico contente que estes locais, façam tudo para receber os seus e os que de certa forma tentam ajudar este meio tao afectado. Com certeza voltaremos em breve e recomendo vivamente, para quem não conhece e para quem quer fugir e relaxar, uma estadia de 2 noites, num paraiso no coração do Douro onde, acima de tudo, preza pelo bem estar e segurança de quem os visita. El hotel está en un lugar estupendo, a la orilla del Duero, enfrente de un puente donde empieza el trayecto en carretera hasta Regua, una delicia. Los servicios y atenciones del hotel están al nivel del entorno, muy buenos. El desayuno impecable. PD Al pagar me regalaron una botella de aceite y una pequeña de oporto porque se dieron cuenta de que era mi cumpleaños. Obrigado

Mención aparte merece el cualificado personal, son de 10. Encantador y amable el camarero del Pequeno almoco, el Sr. Filipe. Y la comida y vinos, muy bien. Recomendable a todos los efectos.

Shower are a bit small and the shower head is also way to small for the high water pressure.

Well located in Douro valley with beautifully lobby.Room has great view of Douro river and valley, nice to sit out under the sun.Classic charming interior with comfortable furnitures.Staffs are very professional and friendly....Staffs were attentive with willingness to solve the problem...every efforts were made to solve the problems..giving extra star for staffs services.Simple breakfast was simple and convenient.
