The Retreat Selous

Passionate for the preservation of threatened wilderness & wildlife, fragile communities and the environment as a whole, our mission has been realized here in Selous Game Reserve in absolute seclusion, but also to make the “authentic" Africa perceivable for guests and friends has always been the idea of The Retreat's founder, a Swiss doctor who has been living and working in Tanzania for more than 20 years. The Retreat takes guests on a journey that blends the soul with nature & untamed wildlife and tailors each day according to individual pace and needs. Careful attention has been given to detail, the integration of locally sourced products and an ambience that is deeply rooted in Africa, touched by the numerous cultural influences of the centuries in combination with principles of Feng Shui and the Five Elements.
