This hotel was already struggling to attract customers before the pandemic, due to its age and damper inland location away from the town and beach. After Ecuador reopened, business was even slower, and it could not guarantee a boat excursion for my travel package, but refused to honor its refund or cancellation policies. By its own admission, other customers were also waiting for their refunds via credit card disputes. It claimed no credit card refunds were possible in Ecuador, that they had never done a credit card refund, and offered an installment plan refund by wire--then retracted the offer. After two and a half years, it is still misusing my money as an interest-free microloan. They told me they could not refund my money because they didn't have enough money/business. But I just read that Hilton is buying the property, so they must have been paid money by Hilton.

Wonderful resort that is set in a natural environment, staying in the homely villa, with two bedrooms, sitting room set in ultra private setting, amazing crafted furniture and beautiful wooden floors. The staff could not be nicer, friendlier and more helpful. Overall an amazing place in an unforgettable environment, highly recommended.

This hotel was amazing. My wife and I stayed here for a week back in 2016. We stayed in one of the villas and it was wonderful. If you want a beautiful and quiet place to enjoy your vacation this is it. It’s about fifteen minutes away from town and the hotel arranged for our day trips around the islands and had a taxi take us down into town and back to the villa every evening. I cannot forget to mention that the meals were amazing and the coffee was great! We can’t wait to take our children back to the Royal Palm when they’re old enough to enjoy the Galapagos!

Amazing place amazing people. Would recommend 100%!! They took incredible care of us and personalized our entire stay. Our tour schedule was crazy but the staff worked hard to accommodate our early mornings and late nights. The hotel property is beautiful and well maintained. The hiking trails are are so much fun we actually wished we had even more time to explore the 600 acre property. Staying in the highlands was definitely a good decision. Coming home from long hot days in town the cool breeze in the highlands was always a welcome relief. Oh did I mention the food? We tried all the best restaurants on the island because we made reservations before we arrived. Little did we know we had the best restaurant on in town just a short walk from our hotel room! Four course meals with different themes every night and even with a few picky eaters in the group not a single plate left our table with food on it! The team here really went above and beyond to make our stay special including cooking a whole fish in their wood fired oven using guava wood to infuse a flavor that was once in a lifetime! Our trip ended with a magical dinner in a lava tunnel that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Cannot recommend this place enough! We searched long and hard to find the right place to stay and coming from Chicago we had no idea what to expect, but Diego and team exceeded our expectations in every way we felt like we were vip the entire stay! Thank you royal palm for making a magical place even more magical! Best vacation of my life!!!

Amazing and magical place. Friendly staff, newly renovated, everyone wore masks and practiced social distancing. Restaurant had amazing food. We stayed here for 5 days with 2 kids. Took taxis to activities during the day ended our day with a swim at the pool every afternoon. They absolutely loved it.
