Second time in a week! The dinner was so delicious we had to come back before heading home! Top recommendation is the steak and patter’ale pie… with chips of course! I LOVED the fact you even make meals for dogs, such a wonderful touch! Very friendly staff and clearly consistently good! Highly recommend a meal (or several here) if in the area.

As I was with dog owners, we couldn't eat in the dining room and had to endure a particularly loud group at the bar! But for this (and with the polite and helpful staff and excellent food and drink) five stars would have been given.
I'd recommend this place to anyone, and would suggest they enjoy the sticky toffee pudding with custard. Wonderful!

We had a meal here last Wednesday and the entire experience was brilliant from start to finish. We were a party of 9 and as you can imagine there were a few last minute changes to numbers and orders etc, but this wasn't an issue at all.
The food (we had a starter, main and desert) was all exceptional, thoroughly enjoyed by all in the wonderful atmosphere of this recently refurbished pub.
Hats off to the manager who waited our table that evening, he was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble, he had a great sense of humour and he looked after us all brilliantly the whole time we were there.
I can't wait to go back again, which is something we will definitely be doing.

This is a beautiful pub and the food was delicious. We went on a Sunday so the menu is quite limited, even more so for gluten free options (salmon, which I don't like, or roast). Our roasts were very tasty (though I'd have preferred more veg), the beef was tender and the gravy was to die for. That said, we'll definitely return to sample the larger menu through the week or on a Saturday. The rooms also look amazing and we're considering an overnight stay in the future. Lots of lovely walks in the area to explore too.

Beautiful food, super warm welcome for us and our dog. I have been here many times over the years because the pub is stunning as is the location but not since it reopened 5 years ago following the fire. I am absolutely delighted that it is still amazing and will definitely be back!
