Atualmente estamos hospedados neste hotel com minha família e estamos decepcionados porque o hotel é lindo, mas não há nada ao redor, a praia cheira muito mal e a maré está muito alta e muito coral e areia movediça, a piscina é verde e sem tratamento . O resort está localizado diretamente na praia. Reservamos uma suíte de 3 quartos. Os quartos são absolutamente limpos e mobiliados de forma moderna. O quarto é limpo todos os dias e as toalhas são mudadas. Você também pode obter toalhas de praia separadas gratuitamente na recepção. Tivemos um pequeno jardim privado apenas para nós, que também inclui um chuveiro ao ar livre. Extra realmente bem sucedido. Você pode dizer pelos muitos pequenos detalhes no resort, quarto e serviço que você obtém mais do que em muitos outros resorts comparáveis. A segurança também não deve ser negligenciada. Há nove Maasai guardando os jardins do hotel 24 horas por dia, 7 dias por semana. O complexo com piscina só pode ser reconhecido como bem sucedido. Tudo é muito bem cuidado e limpo. Isso pode ser visto claramente nas fotos. O serviço da equipe só pode ser descrito como quase perfeito. De qualquer forma, raramente experimentamos isso em outros resorts/hotéis. Os Maasai foram muito simpáticos e cuidaram da bagagem na chegada e na partida. A limpeza dos quartos decorava a cama com flores ou outros brinquedos todos os dias. À noite, alguém vem tratar o quarto com spray de mosquito. Os caminhos de areia são limpos e guarnecidos todos os dias. Isso também se aplicava à seção de praia em frente ao hotel. Fizemos uma excursão pela manhã e no dia da partida foram embalados pequenos pacotes ToGo para nós. Doces de cortesia com café e chá foram fornecidos todas as noites. No dia da partida tivemos que sair do hotel às 3 da manhã (fomos os únicos a sair nesse dia). O gerente do resort se levantou neste momento para se despedir de nós. Todos em todos uma recomendação absoluta.

El complejo está situado directamente en la playa. Reservamos una suite de 3 dormitorios. Las habitaciones están absolutamente limpias y amuebladas de forma moderna. La habitación se limpia todos los días y se cambian las toallas. También puede obtener toallas de playa separadas de forma gratuita en la recepción. Teníamos un pequeño jardín privado solo para nosotros que también incluye una ducha al aire libre. Extra realmente exitoso. Puede notar por los muchos pequeños detalles en el resort, la habitación y el servicio que obtiene más que en muchos otros resorts comparables. La seguridad tampoco debe ser descuidada. Hay nueve maasai que custodian los terrenos del hotel las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana. El complejo con piscina realmente solo puede ser reconocido como exitoso. Todo está muy bien cuidado y limpio. Esto se puede ver claramente en las imágenes. El servicio del personal solo puede describirse como casi perfecto. En cualquier caso, muy pocas veces hemos experimentado esto en otros resorts/hoteles. Los Maasai fueron muy amables y se encargaron del equipaje a la llegada y a la salida. La limpieza de las habitaciones decoraba la cama con flores u otros juguetes todos los días. Por la noche, alguien viene a tratar la habitación con repelente de mosquitos. We came here as strangers and went back with loads of good memories and with a feeling that this place feels like a family. All the staff members were just amazing. They were courteous and would make you feel like home. They had made my anniversary make so much special, can't thank enough. The rooms are clean, food is super tasty and surroundings are just spectacular. A place totally cut off from the world . This is a perfect place to chill.
The free tea and cookies is a add on and the pool is just perfect for kids and adults.
Must try the yellow Mamba from the cocktail list.
I will be visiting this place again for sure.

The Pongwe Bay Resort is exactly the place we were looking for in Zanzibar.
We understood this would have been a great experience a couple of minutes after we checked in, at about 10pm. The manager proactively asked us if we had already had dinner - we hadn't - and offered to bring us something to the room. The "something" was a great meal, like many we had in the following days. Congrats to the chef!
We were upgraded to a bungalow which was roomy, well kept with double sinks and a huge shower. The room and resort's architecture was impressive and everything looked almost new. The service was impeccable, always kind and attentive. We enjoyed a GREAT massage in the Spa and some great drinks (try the Pingwe mojito).
Did I already say the food was great? We are very impressed by the choice and quality.
All in all we couldn't have chosen better - it's a small resort with everything we needed.
Only a few notes for improvement:
- we booked a day trip through the hotel to Nakupenda, a sand bank. The guide on our boat could barely speak English or Italian and didn't add any value
- The beach was full of seaweed. No big deal - just walk a bit towards the Island on the left or on the right
- It was also full of beach boys - not the hotel fault in any way, just know that they are all around Zanzibar and they're pretty insistent on selling you excursions and other stuff. Just learn to say "hapana asante" (no thanks) and prepare to say it multiple times

Beautiful place with excellent garden, swimming pool and wonderful room (Junior Suite with Seam view). Very helpful staff - especially the Manager. Pity that low tide forces to walk >1km to the ocean and kite-surfing is limited due to rocks in front of the hotel. Going out of the hotel for e.g. street-food is possible only by car, as the village is few km from the hotel. For chill-out or holidays only in 2 - it is a great place to be.

I stayed at Pongwe Bay Resort after a successful Kilimanjaro climb!I chose to stay here because I did not want the hustle and bustle of Nungwi.It was PERFECT!My room was very large, extremely clean and quite comfortable.The entire staff at Pongwe Bay is absolutely the BEST!!I cannot say enough about how wonderful each and every one of them were - from the check-in staff, to the kitchen staff, the tour desk staff, housekeeping staff, and management - all excellent! My price included breakfast which was delicious and had different items to chose from everyday.The lunch and dinners were also fantastic!This was exactly what I was seeking - peace and relaxation, with great food, excellent drinks and a beautiful area.True, the water was far away due to low tide, but I ended up taking an excursion to Mnemba Island to snorkel and swim with dolphins.

Our whole stay in Pongwe Bay Resort was really good. The environment is beautiful - gorgeous garden, nice pool and authentic style, we enjoyed it a lot. Our bungalow was also pleasant, big enough and comfortable, proper in every way. Great variety in food, both in breakfast and lunch/dinner options and enough alternatives for trying local food and seafood as well. You can choose from amazing fruits and fruit juices each day, tropical coctails if you like. There's a massage salon in the Resort which is worth trying. We walked barefoot in the whole place all week, it was so good! I'd like to highlight the behaviour and humbleness of the staff: they were the kindest hotel staff I've ever met, accessible for questions, helpful, also open and friendly. <3If you like crowded beaches and bustling life, probably Pongwe isn't your best choice, but if you are looking for a really nice and calm space, you will be satisfied. Important, that the tide is quite big here so don't be disappointed in Pongwe if you chase only the 'white sand perfect beaches' in Zanzibar. However the sand is white here too and you can catch marvelous sunrises from here. :)

Pongwe Bay Resort exceeded our expectations in every way! The staff are so friendly and helpful with a "why not, anything is possible" motto. The room is beautiful and clean, and the view is absolutely amazing. Breakfast is what dreams are made of. Fresh pastries, fruit, bread and hot savory cuisine as well. All the food we sampled was delicious and we loved the big variety of drinks and cocktails at the bar.
Tea time was a nice touch. An hour in the afternoon with free tea and cake/pastries. We enjoyed sampling the different kinds of teas. The swimming pool is nice and clean and the beach is beautiful. There are some free sports you can do from the hotel like volleyball and stand up paddle boarding. You can also book excursions from the hotel and their prices are much more reasonable than other resorts we visited. Their masseuses at the resort also really know what they are doing.
Since this was the last resort of our trip, we just spent the entire time relaxing at the resort and enjoyed every second of it. We will definitely be back in the future!
