Coimbra
Sitting in the heart of Coimbra, just a 15-minute walk from the UNESCO World Heritage-listed University, this eco-friendly hostel offers a great hub from where to explore the beautiful city. And there is plenty to see with its many archaeological monuments that date back to the Roman era, through the buildings from the period when it was the capital of Portugal and the Late Middle Ages, with its decline as political centre and evolution as a major cultural centre. Guests will be a 5-minute stroll from the Santa Cruz Park and from there they can just pick any of the charming restaurants and cafes where to have a relaxed meal, before heading to the bars for a glass of Port wine and some Fado de Coimbra songs. At the end of the evening they can head back to the cosy establishment and enjoy a good night sleep.
